We are in the Pattaya, Chonburi area and work with local school students to reach an intermediate level by studying English as a Second Language (ESL) to target an English level of IELTS 4.5-5.0.
Then we develop the student/s to achieve IELTS 6.5 or higher, which is needed to enter certain Thai universities or to migrate to gain entry to universities around the world.
Achieving a high score in IELTS requires a strong English Language foundation. This foundation may start from intensive private, partner or group classes. From our personal experience, most IELTS students have different attributes they need to work on. Therefore, we generally tailor classes and teach on an individual basis. That said, groups of up to five students in an IELTS program can work if there is a solid English language foundation before the program begins.
The duration of the program will depend on the needed focus areas of study to achieve high band scores for the student or students. An IELTS course outline can be manipulated to suit the course to suit the student/s needs. Our IELTS teachers adopt a program which covers these key areas:
LISTENING
• Hour 1: Take a full IELTS diagnostic test (all four sections)
• Hour 2: Listening strategies (note-taking, prediction, distractors)
• Hour 3: Practice Section 1 & 2 (factual info, everyday context)
• Hour 4: Practice Section 3 & 4 (academic lectures, discussions)
READING
Hour 1: Skimming vs scanning + time management
Hour 2: Multiple choice, matching headings, True/False/Not Given
Hour 3: Practice academic reading passages
Hour 4: Review answers + vocabulary building (collocations, synonyms)
WRITING
Hour 1: Essay types (opinion, discussion, problem-solution)
Hour 2: Planning + thesis statements
Hour 3: Cohesion: linking devices, paragraphing
Hour 4: Timed essay writing + peer/self-review
SPEAKING
Speaking Part 1: personal questions (fluency, tone)
Speaking Part 2: cue card practice + structuring ideas
Speaking Part 3: abstract discussion + opinion development
